Fishing and Angling
Lough Derg lies amidst the Donegal mountains (close to where the counties of Donegal, Fermanagh and Tyrone meet). The lake, with over 1,000 hectares, offers excellent fishing – especially for wild brown trout and pike. Shore fishing is possible at a number of locations, but boat fishing is recommended.
Permits, boat hire and guides are available locally from the Pettigo & District Angling Association.
Lough Erne is one of the finest coarse fishing waters in Europe … roach are everywhere and there are plenty of bream, pike and perch. There is also a good stock of pike in the lough. Fly fishing for pike is a fast-growing method.
Lower Lough Erne also holds good stocks of wild Brown Trout.
Horse Riding
